perfect days start with dimsums.

me and kym decided to grab lunch chinese style and dimsums are the way to go. i suggest you guys go to T&T by Marlborough, there’s a chinese restaurant there that serves this amaaaazing rice crepes shrimp thigies which just melt in your mouth like heaven (3rd panel of the pic).

we had to stop by the bakery to get Alliana something to eat before we head to the Science Centre. we love looking at the cute sweet delicacies they have there, they’re just too pretty to eat. XD

been wanting to get some French Macarons from this place for a long time now. we had to stop by downtown to get some. the patisserie is a quaint little yellow house (a real house) in 4th Street. it’s a tad little bit hard to locate but it’s all worth it. the macarons are delectable unfortunately, i had to share.

who knew me, Kym and Alliana had something in common (aside from love for food)? we all love to go to science museums and go stargazing on our days off. lol. but because the weather here in Calgary sucks monkey ass balls, we didn’t get to see Saturn for Astronomy night. there were a couple of neat presentations and live demo about saturn but that really didn’t make up for actually viewing the planet on a telescope. but still, there’s so many fun activities to do in the Science Centre, learning is just a bonus. too bad we didn’t go earlier. 

i’d love to visit there again with family and friends. 20bucks is worth every penny even though we didn’t get to go star-gazing. plus, it’s a nice, cheap place to go on a date. ;)

hello from the mildly chilly Calgary. so far we’ve been having bouts of rain showers every now and then. but i’m just glad we get sunshine on most days, especially last weekend. we were able to bask in +20°C, which was definitely a shorts and flipflops weather. 

also, i’ve been working casual (on-call basis) in my previous job as a unit clerk. they were kind enough to give me my job back even though i was gone for almost a year. it really is nice to be back. when i’m not at work, i’d be out shopping and hanging out with friends and family or stay cozy at home doing the usual house chores which don’t seem to feel like chores anymore.

i’m really excited this Sunday for Calgary Comic Expo with Kym, Anthony and Stephen. it’s to make up for missing out on the private screening of the Avengers with the CBG people this Saturday. it’s a geeky dream of mine to dress-up for comicons so i’m looking for Batman costumes. i have this untapped love for comicbooks especially Batman which may have been unleashed when RM got me into the Comic Book Group on Facebook. they’re really a fun, intellectual bunch abounding with comic book passion.

oh. on a completely unrelated note,

we got a schedule for the Canadian Citizenship exam this May 17th, after we pass and have the oath-taking, my Filipino citizenship will automatically be revoked. 

that’s all peaches and gravy but i still have to be back in the Philippines for my second year of school. since i will be a full-pledged Canadian, i won’t be able to use my Philippine passport for travel and if ever i will be able to obtain my Canadian passport, I will only be allowed to stay in the Philippines for 2 months.

so unless i fly to Vancouver to get a dual citizenship and reclaim my Filipino citizenship before my flight on June 11th, it’ll be a problem going back and forth to both countries and i wont be able to continue my studies in the Philippines without paying outrageously expensive foreign student fees. XD

so yeah, i don’t know. i’m just hoping everything will work out eventually. right now, the best thing to do is to kick back, relax and soldier on.

hello.

of course i’m excited. i’ll get to see my family and friends again. and it’s spring in Calgary. good place to escape the sweltering hot summer.

but i’m more stressed right now than i was during exam week. i’m a little bit in a panic that i haven’t touched my luggage that’s been sitting in a corner collecting dust. i dont know where to start with this packing shit. i’ll never get tired of saying how much i hate packing. to think that i’ve been doing a lot of that and will be doing more of it for the next few years, i should’ve already learned to embrace it. 

but as you know, i’m the master procrastinator and like to put off things til the last minute. i guess i love the adrenaline rush and excitement of running around like a chicken with her head cut-off. not.

to avoid such unpleasant ordeal, i made a list of things to buy for pasalubong. people have been asking me to buy them pasalubong when i go back to canada. some are requests from my mom’s friends. 

also, since my time here is limited, i made a list of things to do for Monday til Friday including where to go on that certain day and what to do or buy. such a tedious task, really.

i’m just glad that my uncles are willing to help me cross some of the things off the list. i almost forgot to include gin premium on the list. good thing uncle gx reminded me and volunteered to get it for my dad. he also thought of some things to get for the family like chippy, boy bawang, ovaltinees, chocnut, the usual..

it’s funny how some of my friends are only finding out about me staying in the Philippines just now. they’ve been messaging me asking me since when have i been here in the Philippines, where i’m staying and what the hell am i doing here. and they’d always be surprised when i tell them that im going back to Canada next week. they’d be in shock and tell me why have i not told them earlier. then i’d be like, “dude, chill. i’m coming back in 2 months.” true story.

anyhow, i’m really not yet ready to leave for Canada just yet. i wish i got to come home to Naga before leaving. or atleast gone to the beach or something. le sigh.

for some reason i find comfort in formlessness.
